If you are going to be using your logo on a vehicle or enlarging it, it will need to be in vector format. If you are going to be using it strictly on your website, you can probably get away with a bitmap logo. Bitmap logos can sometimes have more 3D or "shiny" effects, which is why they are sometimes preferred. The final format of the logo is usually determined by the program it was created in (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc
